On 2 July I was interviewed by Neil Oliver live on GB News as they had
seen my story in a newspaper about my journey and wanted to share my story with
their viewers. It was my first live TV interview so I was understandably nervous,
however the interview went incredibly well.
Throughout our chat we talked about my journey
as a carer to my late-Husband, how I came to write my book and also how I have
used my experience to find my ‘new-normal’ and try to comprehend and understand
my journey through grief and bereavement whilst focusing on the present and the
future. The response has been phenomenal with many people contacting me to say
‘thank you’ for being so honest and open about a difficult subject and that its
good to hear someone talking about the ‘real journey’, as it can be incredibly
difficult. I feel very privileged to tell my story as from the darkest of days
my life now is full of joy, happiness and meaningfulness. My only hope is that
my book will continue to inspire and inform other carers to know that they are
not alone and that they will be okay. My grief will always be part of who I am
but I am excited my future whatever that may hold.
